Wallet Connection Problems

Fix common Xaman wallet connection issues including QR code problems, expired payloads, and app issues.

QR Code Won't Scan

If your Xaman app can't scan the QR code:

  1. Ensure your phone camera is working and focused.
  2. Increase screen brightness on the device showing the QR.
  3. Try moving closer or further from the screen.
  4. Make sure the QR code is not partially cut off by your browser window.
  5. Try using the 'Open in Xaman' deep link button instead (mobile only).

QR Code Expired

Xaman QR codes expire after 5 minutes for security. If the code expires:

  1. Click Try Again in the XamanProtocol modal.
  2. A new QR code will be generated.
  3. Scan the new code promptly.

Xaman App Not Opening

  • Ensure Xaman is installed and updated to the latest version.
  • On mobile, ensure deep links are enabled for the Xaman app in your device settings.
  • Try closing and reopening the Xaman app.
  • If using an older version, update via App Store or Google Play.

Connection Succeeds but Balance Shows Wrong

If your Xaman wallet connects but shows an incorrect balance:

  1. The balance is fetched from the XRP Ledger in real time. Wait a moment and refresh.
  2. Ensure you're looking at the correct XRPL address.
  3. XRPL account reserve (1 XRP + 0.2 XRP per trust line) is deducted from your spendable balance — this is normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

I approved in Xaman but nothing happened in XamanProtocol. What do I do?+
XamanProtocol polls for the Xaman payload status every 3 seconds. Allow up to 15 seconds after approval. If nothing updates, close the modal and try again.
Can I use Xaman on a different device?+
Yes. Open Xaman on any device where your wallet is set up and scan the QR code shown on XamanProtocol.
