What Is Xaman?
Xaman (formerly called XUMM) is the leading self-custody wallet for the XRP Ledger. It's a mobile app (iOS and Android) that stores your XRP private key on your device and lets you sign transactions by scanning QR codes or tapping deep links.
With Xaman, you always control your private key — it never leaves your device.
Why XamanProtocol Supports Xaman
Xaman is the most trusted and widely-used XRPL wallet. Integration with Xaman allows users to stake XRP directly from their self-custody wallet without the intermediate step of depositing to XamanProtocol first. This is faster and provides an alternative for users who prefer to keep most funds in self-custody.
Installing Xaman
Download the Xaman app from the official App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Always download from the official stores to avoid counterfeit apps. The app is free.
How XamanProtocol Uses Xaman
XamanProtocol uses the Xaman API to create payload requests — transaction requests that appear in your Xaman app when you scan a QR code or tap a deep link. There are two types:
- Sign-In (SignIn): Proves you own an XRPL address. No XRP is transferred. Used for wallet connection.
- Payment: A real XRP transfer transaction. Used when staking — sends your XRP to XamanProtocol's platform address.
Privacy & Security
XamanProtocol never sees your private key. The Xaman API only communicates public information:
- Your XRPL address (after you approve Sign-In)
- The signed transaction result (after you approve a payment)
All other wallet data stays on your device in the Xaman app.
